September 2022 Grant Application Announcement:
The objective of the 2022 CAL FIRE County Coordinator Statewide Grant Program is to educate, encourage, and develop county-wide collaboration and coordination among various wildfire mitigation groups. Up to 21 counties will receive a one-time grant of $175,000 to be used to cover administrative costs relevant to county-wide coordination efforts, including but not limited to the salary, support, and administrative costs for a designated County Coordinator.
FUNDING AVAILABLE:
Up to 21 counties will receive a one-time, 18 month grant of $175,000.
ELIGIBILITY:
The 2022 Statewide County Coordinator Grant Program application is intended for the remaining counties who did not receive funding as part of the 2021-2022 Northern or Southern Region County Coordinator Grant Program. Please reference the map above for current County Coordinator projects. To apply, counties must be the starting point and invested in the scope and goals of the project. However, counties may choose to direct the application process and funds to the non-profit or public agency that they feel are best equipped to execute the project. Local fire mitigation groups are not eligible to apply unless their county designates them as the primary applicant and provides a letter of support. Only one application per county will be accepted.

For counties that wish to designate the grant application and funds to a non-profit or public agency who they feel is best able to execute the scope of the County Coordinator Grant, a letter of support from the County Board of Supervisors will be required as an application attachment. This letter serves as a template only and may adjusted or edited as needed.
About the California Fire Safe Council:
The County Coordinator Grant Program is part of a larger effort by the California Fire Safe Council and our partners to develop local and regional capacity and coordination to encourage collaboration between all fire mitigation and emergency preparedness groups, as well as government agencies and stakeholders. Each County Coordinator will serve as a conduit of information and resources and provide active coordination and outreach efforts within their county.

Community Wildfire Preparedness Project is part of California Climate Investments, a statewide program that puts billions of Cap-and-Trade dollars to work reducing GHG emissions, strengthening the economy, and improving public health and the environment– particularly in disadvantaged communities.
